Charity / Community

Here at Atkins Ferrie Wealth Management we are proud to serve the South West. This extends from helping those who come through our doors to the wider community. Please read about the work we are doing with local Charity and Community organisations.

Cornwall Community Foundation

We are proud supporters of the Cornwall Community Foundation, an organisation that aims to improve the lives of others in Cornwall, including those who are isolated, disadvantaged and vulnerable.

Every penny raised stays within Cornwall and is used to provide and improve important services and support to those who need it. We love working with the CCF as they are able to demonstrate how even a small amount of funding can go a long way.

Cornwall 100 Club

We were first introduced to Tamas from the CCF at Royal Cornwall Show in June 2016. Following a series of meetings, we joined the CCF and C100 Club in September 2016 and have since attended various networking events, Club Panel meetings and Professional Advisers Seminars. These events are a fantastic way to come together and share ideas about how we can work better together to help make much needed improvements in Cornwall, to make it a better place for people to live and work sustainably.

Below are a few of the charties we have given our time and experience too.

Click on the charities below to read more about the individual events AFWM has worked with/sponsored:

AFWM Ltd started working with CHICKS in 2015 when we agreed to sponsor their annual Golf Day at Trethorne Golf Club. In 2017 the event raised an amazing £7,994 which all helped towards funding the much needed breaks for children from across the country. We also sponsored CHICKS charity dinner at Trenython Manor raising an impressive £1,090.

In 2018, we will sponsor the Trethorne Golf Day for the fourth year running.

Royal Horticultural Society

This year we are very excited to announce that we are the headline sponsors for the RHS Garden Rosemoor Flower Show. This is only the second year Rosemoor has hosted its own show and we are extremely proud to join the likes of much larger, international investment and tourism companies in supporting RHS with their series of flower shows across the country.  This is a major milestone for the Company and will no doubt aid us on our mission to expand further into Devon.

Cornwall Garden Society

We are the main sponsors of the Cornwall Garden Society Spring Flower Show at Boconnoc in April 2018 for the sixth consecutive year. Our Managing Director, John Waldie says “I am delighted to be sponsoring the CGS Spring Show for the sixth year in a row. The show just gets better and better every year and our staff enjoy meeting everyone on what is a happy occasion for all attendees – whatever the weather!”

National Trust

AFWM Ltd have been the main sponsors of the National Trust’s Coleton Aglow for second years running. This wonderful illumination event runs throughout December. The streams, beautiful trees and exotic features of the garden are lit for Christmas in spectacular fashion – a truly magical way to see in the festive season. We are currently in talks with members of the National Trust to how we may be able to further support them in 2018 and beyond.

Cornwall Hospice Care

AFWM Ltd first started working with Cornwall Hospice Care last year. We sponsored their Night of Neon Fun Run at Flambards and their Santa Fun Run series across Cornwall in December. Both events proved to be a huge success with hundreds of eager entrants of all ages taking part at each venue.

Oli Hoare from CHC says:

“Atkins Ferrie Wealth Management were a pleasure to work with when they supported us in the delivery of our 2017 Night of Neon fun run and Santa Series. They understood how crucial our events are to funding the care our two hospices provide and were extremely supportive, getting hands-on involved on race day and helped us to reach more runners, supporters and fundraisers.”

We are currently in talks with CHC about ways in which we can continue to support them in 2018.

Kidz R Us

We nominated Kidz R Us, St Ives, for the Aviva Community Fund and campaigned across various social media and in our local communities to gain support for them to win funding of up to £25,000. We are now in the process of organising a fundraiser to help them raise money for high-tech equipment that will revolutionise their set for future productions.

St Ives Rugby Football Club

We sponsor a number of St Ives RFC home games and regularly attend sponsor meets.

Merlin MS Centre

Our newest partnership is with Merlin MS Society, whom we met at a Rotary event of which they were the beneficiary charity. We will be working together on a number of projects throughout 2018.

Venus Women’s Awards

We are privileged to once again sponsor the 2018 Cornwall and Devon Regional Venus Women’s Awards. This will be the fourth year that we are category sponsors of the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ which is an honour in itself. However to join the likes of NatWest Bank, Mercedes-Benz and IKEA as Regional Headline sponsors for the first time in 2018, makes us very proud.

Fisherman’s Mission

A relatively new relationship for us, the Fishermen’s Mission recently approached us to request support. Following two meetings with their Fundraising Manager, Julian, we are now looking into the various projects we can support them with in 2018.

Macular Society

We first came across the Macular Society at last year’s Rotary District Conference. They offer information and support and they fund vital research to find a cure to overcome Macular Disease. It soon became apparent that we could work together, not only through sponsorship.

With the Society’s support, we have recently produced our literature in a format that is suitable for people with eyesight problems. We are also in the process of arranging seminars where we can talk to people whose eyesight impairments make them vulnerable and who have little/no confidence in dealing with financial issues. Our aim is to make our services easily accessible to all. We have agreed to sponsor the Macular Society to enable them to hold an invaluable roadshow for Macular Disease sufferers and their families in Plymouth in 2018.

Rotary Club

We take part in a number of Rotary events across the South West.

Working closely with Rotary is something we have always been passionate about. The work they do not only helps local communities but they also put a great deal of effort into building international relationships and improving conditions for many people living in poverty worldwide. We have already agreed sponsorship of a number of Rotary events in 2018 and look forward to hearing about the many projects they plan to support this year. 01872 306422
