More than 200 cyclists took part in the Two Moors 100 charity cycling sportive on Sunday.

The event, supported by AFWM Ltd and run by the Bideford Bridge Rotary Club, is dubbed the ‘West Country’s friendliest sportive’ and although not technically a race, attracted individual and club riders from all over the South West and as far as Scotland and Germany.

Cyclists could choose to complete either a 100-mile or 60-mile loop from Bideford Rugby Club to Exmoor and Dartmoor, via Okehampton, Winkleigh, South Molton, and Barnstaple.

Glenn Downs from Winkleigh completed the 100-mile course in 6 hrs 6 mins and 18 secs; followed by Simon de Burgh from Edinburgh, riding for Tri Force, in 6:04:02; and Martin Pearce from Okehampton Cycling Club and Karen Pearce from Gresham, both of whom finished in 6:08:14.

This year’s event raised more than £3,000 for local Rotary charities.
